VR4300

Revision as of 22:09, 11 March 2021 by Bigbass (talk | contribs) (Bigbass moved page MIPS R4300 to VR4300: Naming consensus is that VR4300 is the best term to use for referring to the N64 CPU.)

The MIPS R4300 is the primary CPU of the Nintendo 64, and is an NEC VR4300 with slight modifications. Running at 93.75 MHz, the R4300 handles game logic, reading responding to controller input from the PIF, and preparing display lists and audio command lists for the RCP to draw and synthesize audio.
