On 2019-06-17, the Computer History Museum published an interview to Phil Gossett, one of the original designers of the Nintendo 64, specifically designing the RDP unit, while working at SGI. It is an interesting retrospective on the process building the chip, and also tries to describe a few peculiarities of RDP and VI (the dither filter, the AA post-filter, the triangular interpolation, etc.).
